Criterion Games and Electronic Arts are beefing up the cops and racers action in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit just in time for Christmas with 13 new race and pursuit events and three of the world's fastest exotic cars in the Super Sports content pack.

The DLC pack will make the Porsche 911 GT2, Gumpert Apollo S, and Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport available as a cop and racer, giving players the opportunity to use all three dream cars to either hunt down racers or evade the law. See the cars in action below:

"Each vehicle was carefully chosen for their unsurpassed performance, speed and ability for players to post the fastest times on their speed wall and push the limits of social competition," EA and Criterion said in a statement.

New Trophies and Achievements will also be up for grabs, but Criterion did not provide details on the 13 new race and pursuit events. The Super Sports pack is set launch on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network on December 22 for $7 or 560 MS points.

Sharkey says: I'm trying to get details on the race and pursuit events and I'll update this post when I hear back from EA. And just an FYI on that Bugatti Super Sport, it is the vehicle you'll want in Hot Pursuit. The car is the fastest road-legal vehicle in the world with a top speed of 267 mph, and the Super Sport now holds the record on the Top Gear test track, topping the Gumpert Apollo.
